What’s your go to hunting accuracy load for 308 win?

I have a picky 308 that I’m trying to start over with. What is your go to, best luck in every 308 you’ve tried recipe? (I’ll be sure to work up to the load)

Bullets I have on hand:
150 Hornady BTSP
165 Hornady BTSP
165/168 Nosler BT
155 Scenar (this with benchmark has given me 3/4” groups at 2680fps with 20” barrel but hoping to find a hunting bullet load)
168 Berger VLD Hunting
180 Hornady SST

Powder I have on hand for 308
Varget 3/4lb from 2015
H4895
IMR 4064 (rifle really seems to dislike this powder)
Benchmark

Brass: Lapaua

Primer:
CCI BR2 (best luck with these)
Winchester large rifle
Federal large rifle

1 grain under Max Varget, Federal 210, 150 and 165 Hornady btsp set with bullet jump at 0.020. see which shoots better, then load the same at 0.010 and 0.030 bullet jump and pick the better of the 2. I also get 4064 to shoot good with modest loads but they open up as load increases. For strong loads Varget, RL15, and CFE223 are better for me. Bullet jump is KEY in 308. You'll fight what shoots best vs what fits the mag.... Which is why I shorten the throat on my barrels. But then some factory loads might not fit. 2.830 is the max length for a lot of mags. But I have some at 2.850 OAL that are extremely accurate and precise. So I single load my first cartridge when hunting big fields.

137g hammer hunter, lapua brass, normal cci large rifle primers and h4895 are shooting less than .75” out of a Kimber Montana.

I have a 20" Savage 110 Hog Hunter I use for general purpose shooting and deer. The 150gr SST with 41.6gr 4895 shoots lights out at every distance I have shot it. This hunting season I used a 180gr Hornady Interlock with 41.0gr 4895. Only needed one. Remington 9.5 LR primers because that is what I have on hand, Federal casings, and bullets seated to 2.800" I really want to use the 178 ELD-X but can't find any.

130 TTSX
45.7gr IMR 3031
Nosler case
CCI 200
0.05 of lands
20” barrel Weatherby Vangaurd Camilla
3 shot group .418” @ 100yds
3057
3062
3073

168 grain Barnes TTSX
Federal 210 primer
41.3 grains of IMR 4895
OAL 2.600"
Whatever brass is laying around, full length resized.

This shoots sub MOA in my Remington 700 Varmint, by Larue Tactical UUK with 20" bbl, and my Tikka T3X Lite Veil. I also run the exact same load with 168 grain SMK's, and it has the same zero and point of impact out to 500 yards. Muzzle velocity is about 2550 or maybe 2600 out of a longer barrel.

I've killed two deer with the TTSX load this year.

Ruger 22", Nosler brass, Hornady 150 interlock BTSP, 45g H-4895, 2.850 COAL 0.020 off. 2800fps + or - a bit.

in my hunting group we have 3 tikka 308s and they absolutely love the factory Hornady 150gr sst. easy .75 moa factory rifle and factory ammo.

178 Amax, Reloader 17, and CCI Magnum Large Rifle. Fantastic in AR10, good in a savage bolt gun.

But be smart about Rl17 and watching for pressure signs.

I’m using 44.5gr of imr 4064 with a 150 hornady btsp at 2.75” oal and it shoots just under an inch out of an old Rem 700 adl

46 grains of 748 federal 215 Sierra 180PH
just don’t shoot that load on hot days.

Most recently 151 Hammer Hunter, now called power hammer, CFE223 powder.

This is 5 shots working up a ladder. 3018fps and no pressure signs.

Factory 20” 308 R700 5R Milspec.

Added a few more for my 308 recently. Sako 75.

150 g Nosler partition 45.7 grains Varget, Lapua brass, Fed 210M primer. 2750 fps, seated .03" off lands, ended up seating these a little longer than the book says, at book seating depth they shot horrible. At the final OAL I was able to get .5 MOA at 200 yards.

150 grain Barnes TSX, 44.8 grains Varget, Lapua Brass, Fed 210M primer. 2740 fps. Initial testing I got .5 MOA at 45 grains, and I tested .2 above/ below the 45 grain and found 44.8 to have a little better ES/SD numbers. Seated .050" off lands.

I’m goi g for goat on the 1st of august, I settled on 46g varget with a 165g accubond out of my suppressed Kimber Montana.

45.6 gr Varget behind a Nosler 165 gr ballistic tip in Winchester brass. Cuts holes in a Mauser M12.
