I assume for a Rem700 or clone. Trigger tech or a Properly tuned Old style walker trigger. The Bix N Andy seems like a great trigger but have no experience with them yet.

I have a Timney Calvin in one Rifle and the cheapest Remington 700 triggertech in another rifle. I prefer the triggertech hands down.

I’ve installed a bunch of the above mentioned triggers. I’ve had two Bix triggers brought back in due to not resetting or discharging on their own. Both had been maintained with a squirt of lighter fluid. When I took them apart I found the internals squeaky clean, too clean, and the parts/balls weren’t moving freely. Sprayed with Teflon dry lube and they were back to normal.

805 does a great job on the 700 triggers, I have a couple. Triggertechs are awesome as well.

I would never consider putting a Bix'n Andy in a hunting rifle. Oil, lubricant, dust, lint, or any other foreign item commonly found inside a rifles action is all it takes to stop the trigger from functioning. Kinda like packing fine china on an Alaskan goat hunt.

Care to elaborate on why you have such a strong opinion? Any personal experience?

This goes against what I have heard from a few very knowledgeable people and I actually have a rifle in the works that I plan on putting a bix n Andy in.

Timney. BTW, Melvin has been using them for about 50 years and says "they work." They come in his NULA's.

I had one in a Sendero build. I had two stoppages with the trigger and both were results of residual oil/dirt getting into the unit. (Per the shop that installed it). After a lengthy conversation with the gunsmith, I had it removed, left it with him, and went with a triggertech and have never looked back. It is a fantastic trigger for the right applications, I just dont think a field rifle is the right place for it. Right,wrong, or just a bad unit? Idk, but that was my personal experience with a Bix'n Andy trigger.
