What's your "do everything" knife for the backcountry?

I currently have an old pocket knife, but I've been eyeballing a few fixed blade knives to handle everything except for cleaning the kill.

I love my Gerber Gator with Bell & Carlson handle and S30V steel. Love it so much, I picked up a few of them when Cabela's was clearing them out at $29.99. Did an entire bull with one, and it still slices paper and shaves hair.

I carry a Havalon and a Leathermen. With those, there really is no need to pack an additional blade.

For everyday carry I have either a Benchmade Bone Collector folder or CRKT M-21.

I don't take them hunting but camping and such it's an one of a couple different Esee options, izulu, 4 or a 5. Lifetime warranty an are SOLID knives.

Since I bought my Outdoor Edge RB-20 that is all I take with me and 6 blades.

Agreed--ESEE Izula II is my favorite do it all fixed blade. The ESEE 3 or 4 would be a good way to go also

Havalon is now my go to, but I always carry a fixed blade. Picked up a Helle a couple years ago and absolutely love it.

In the past I've taken a havalon and a cheap mora for batoning, etc, when I'm going way back. I have a benchmade hidden canyon hunter now that sure is pretty but I'm hesitant to make it my do-all knife.

Havalon. Hell even if you loose the damn thing, you can cape and debone a deer on the side of a mountain with an extra blade taped to a stick!

For hunting, Benchmade Saddle Mountain Skinner

Want to pick up an ESEE 4 for a do all bombproof "bush knife"...but it probably wouldn't make the cut for a backcountry hunt over the Benchmade
