I wouldn’t change a thing. I’ve killed a lot of bears with a 30/06, most with 168g Berger vld’s, and only two made it past 15yds. One went 30yds down a steep clear cut. The other was shot with my bow and it only went 20yds. The only bears our group has had to track or lost was due to bad shots. Your 7mm is more than enough, I’d use it with confidence.I've used a 7mm Rem Mag to harvest one and lost one. Really considering switching to a 300 PRC, 300 WSM, or 338-06
I agree with the above post, the 7mm RM is more than enough. Any idea where you hit him and what bullet did you use? Double lung them and they die fast but if you don't they can go a long way and are tough customers.I've used a 7mm Rem Mag to harvest one and lost one.
