Looking for the BAR experts here.
I've casually been in the market for a Browning BAR and have been browsing GunBroker. I've noticed a couple of the ShortTrac BARs going for $1,300-$1,500 used. Considering they sold for around $1,100 new when they were still in production and the current MK3s run $1,300-$1,400, what gives? I understand they went with the same receiver length with the MK3 regardless of short or long action caliber so the ShortTracs have a shorter OAL. Is there an increased demand for the older version?
