Ok... but did he locate them entirely on his own?

Not positive, that's a different debate.

I know I read about him finding his 400" elk the year before, however a lot of different stories circle that.

Definitely some controversy around. I think he hunted hard and found a lot of success from it, which made others cast doubt. But I could have the wool pulled over my eyes.

This is all that shows up on Tapatalk, that may be the issue. Pretty vague, I’m guessing other platforms have more.

Sorry about that! I purposely put in there diy because it’s pretty easy to find 200” deer and 400” elk if your check is big enough!

Yup, I’d have to go with WT as well. I’ve seen both the others in that ballpark alive on public, but not a WT!

I didn’t realize it was a poll, yeah those don’t show on Tapatalk for some reason.

Yeah as great as Tapatalk is, it doesn’t support polls. Only full site mode.

Y’all need to come to Texas. We have so many 200+” whitetails it’s almost like they’re specifically bred that way... oh wait... ;)

Unless someone has actually bagged all 3 i don't think any of us can give an accurate opinion. However good luck with the public land 200" whitetail.

Personally, for me, it is the 400'' typical bull elk trophy hunt. I want to try this again soon, the fun never discourages me from trying.

Let’s hear it?
Well of course you first have to hunt in a spot that Has one of the above.

I have- hunted in spots like that....and I've never shot any of the 3- sigh....so frankly my opinion is worthless.

It takes a dedication to passing so many other good animals that I just don't have in me.

_EDIT- Sorry, UCS...I didn't see that it was all public ground.

My buddies roommate on the Eastern side of CO has a bunch of big mule deer on the walls- a few right at or over 200"...one about 220" gross and a bunch in the 170" to mid 190" range.

His grandfather used to have a 1,000 acre ranch on the eastern slope and he said they used to call it Jurrassic Park with all of the giant mulies running around. Most of us stuck hunting public land do not have a spot like that.

Considering Boone and Crockett have had 365 mule deer, 70 elk and only 20 whitetails entered under your criteria (net) and that there are probably several times more WT killed per year than the other 2 species combined, the answer isn't even close.

Are the B&C statistics specific to public land or just to the size of the animals?
