What’s the fastest you’ve driven?

130ish in a car, 176, ZX11, my cousins bike and I had no business going over 100 for that matter, but one crack of the throttle got ya 100 right now!

I remember seeing a road sign way out, I passed it instantly and luckily realized I was going way to fast, coasted down to normal speeds, rode back and that convinced me never to buy a motorcycle!

I’m in the ~1500 club as well as the .98 in a subsonic a/c club. The .98 was the scariest as you could just feel that you were a millisecond away from a smoking hole.

I hit 180k on my brothers honda 900 the one and only time I rode it. Also remember "winding out "my 1979 Ford F250 at 101 mph . I was 18 on the Alaska highway with bias ply tires .... at least it had been chip sealed so was'nt just gravel. Still pretty stupid. About a year ago my BIL gave me a ride in his new Corvette and decided to show me how fast it could go, I saw 285k on the speedo... never again. That basically scared the crap out of me.

Late 80s, after making some carb adjustments, we hit 120 riding with my dad in my 1964 GTO with dry rotted bias ply tires. He couldn't hardly steer it with those tires in that condition. That scared me. 120 or more riding with my brother in his 1972 corvette convertible heading home from Philly for a wedding. 119.5 governed mph in my 1984 trans Am in WA near Port Angelos.

The scariest ride though was 90 mph at night on, I think, a 680 cc Sea Doo Summit across a frozen lake outside of Fairbanks, AK in the 90s. Your eyes start watering so bad you can't see.

have a 06 r1...193 on a good straight stretch. honda car in passing lane and semi in the slow...had to shut it down early....they come up fast at that speed...probably not to much left in it tho

On pavement 145 mph in a buddy's Supra.

Used to regularly do 70+ mph on pavement and gravel on ATVs but hitting a deer at ~50 mph (w/o a helmet of course) got me to stop that. Blessed to be alive and most injuries healed within a few months.

My wife bought me a race car experience for my birthday one year. Got to drive a formula 1 car 160+ around the track. Even passed another car going that fast.

Had to take a 4 hour classroom course before I did it. Wish I had a dollar for each time they said “don’t do this or you will die.”

I hit 102 in my 06 Chevy cobalt on a smooth open stretch of freeway in middle america. Car felt great and I would've kept going but my wife was not having it.

170 in a 2002 Dodge Viper and 155 on a CBR 1100 with a girl on the back. Finally wised up and quit buying fast things.

My Silverado won’t go any faster than 112mph. I’ve tried many times haha. Took a buddies Camaro SS for a rip and hit 137. Brother had a Grand Prix GTP that I set the cruise at 133 on the way up north.

I accidentally hit 120 in my wife’s Kia sorento heading south on Highway 93 in Nevada. Stuck for many miles behind a long line of slow vehicles, hit an opening and before I knew it I looked down and I was doing 120. Vehicles drive way too smooth at way too high of speeds today

High school 130 in my dad’s ‘73 Ford LTD on the way to school. Speedometer went to 140 but she sounded like the dilithium crystals were about to blow. WAAAAAAAAAAWAWAAA!!

Late 90’s, Had a girlfriend that had a white Beamer sports coupe… can’t remember the model. Headed out across the pine flats north of Susanville CA and I looked down and I was doing 125. Felt like 70 that car was so smooth. Took my foot off the gas and coasted over a rise and in the middle of frikkin nowhere, here stands a trooper with a radar gun. Waves me over and writes me a $600 ticket for doing 96 in a 55 zone.

My son bought a Yamaha RR600 (don’t quote me on the model#) that was faster than a raped ape. 🦧. I took it for a spin and hit this mile long straightaway behind the house. I got it up to 100 but I ran out of straightaway and balls. Seemed like it ate up that mile in about 15 seconds. Bike still had two gears left was 2k short of redline. I got back to the house and said “This thing scares the shirt out of me!! I can’t even believe it’s legal”

Most scared I’ve ever been on a vehicle, I was riding the fender on one of those huge eight wheel John Deere tractors, helping a buddy feed some beef cattle in western WA. It had been raining a bit and the sod was saturated. We went off the top of a hill towing a heavy farm trailer with maybe 15 tons of hay on it. What came next can only be described as a sleigh ride. About 200 ft of descent controlled only by gravity and whipping the wheel back and forth to try and keep that tractor in front of the trailer. Probably never exceeded 25 mph, but my butthole puckered so hard I probly left a mark on the fender., and my hand probly dented the paint where I was grabbing the bar that holds the roof up.

Car:
120’s mph in a 1977 Pontiac Trans Am. Full on Smokey and the Bandit model. I was 10. I was not driving.
Street Motorcycle:
154mph on a Ducati ST3 on a long, long country backroad. Picture Illinois cornfield country.
158mph on a Yamaha R6 at Blackhawk Farms Raceway. Would hit this speed a couple dozen times during a track day by the end of the day.
Dirt Bike:
88mph through a cut cornfield in an enduro race. More sketchy than any of the speeds above.

151 in the charger scat pack I used to own. The performance per dollar was outrageous on that car
