I'm at 18.6 without weapon, food, or water. Everything else in the pack for a hunt is on the list. But, where I hunt it hardly ever rains and rarely drops below freezing, so that helps.
Why 4lbs of salt? Hide care?
I can understand that but jeez 2 lbs of salt on your back, that's a days worth of food!I lost a wolf hide last year because I didnt salt it enough, wont make that mistake again
we will more than likely have 4-6lbs of extra salt at basecamp/river
ya im thinkin some fellas are full of shi _......... just sayin.......
Impressive!!
Just my pack, rifle, spotter, tripod and binos I am up over 20 pounds! Let alone game bags, knife, shelter, quilt, pad, stove, fuel, rain gear, puffy clothes, water filter, TP, trekking poles, and extra set of socks and my base layer bottoms. Care to share your complete list there?

yep...
i gotta say, when i hear weights like a few being thrown around, for a hunting trip, i usually picture people bailing off the mountain when weather turns or just not counting a bunch of stuff. im well over 40lbs and have alot of the lightest gear available...

I have actually stopped caring. I buy Good gear, pack what I need, leave what I don't. The pack weighs what it weights.
This will be around my sixteenth CO. archery season.
Hopefully,I will arrow my thirteenth Elk this September.
I've made many mistakes.
But,after sixteen years of chasing Elk in CO. backcountry I have fortunately never had to bail...and I've been in some crazy chit!
You can go Super UL and be good to go.
Just not a lot of creature comforts.
I can shave about 1.5#'s off my list which would put me about 17#'s no water,no food and no bow.
I'm missing a few items like extra batteries,license/ID,Allen wrenches,para cord/extra straps...
