Years ago I used the original uncompahgre jacket and I thought it was a good jacket. Great warmth to weight for its size. I have since just been using the Grumman jacket from SG and love it but I am looking at getting a synthetic jacket again. I’m curious what everyone’s favorite synthetic insulation is?

I use a Stone Glacier Cirque and like it so far. It doesn’t compress as well as the uncompahgre though. It’s heavier but overall has been warmer. I’ve debated getting Grumman. Is there anything you didn’t like or a reason you want to go back to synthetic?

The Grumman is awesome. It’s just a little too much insulation for September and I find it just sits in the bottom of my pack most of the time. I’m looking for something that’s in between that is like the uncompahgre but not first lite.

Sitka Kelvin (either the Aerolite or gen 1) for me, warm and lightweight. As far as warmth it sits somewhere between a SG Cirque and a Grumman.
