Ok all you gear heads and hunters alike, what say you? I don't really have any complaints other than my stove pipe getting halfway ripped out of my teepee and flattened in half during a blizzard and 80 mph winds in the high country of CO on a late October deer hunt, but a couple new items for me this year worked extremely well!
First my boots. I bought 2 pair of Meindl Eurolight boots. 1 insulated and 1 non. The sole is just stiff enough and the ankle support great! Probably half the weight of previous boots and comfy right out of the box. Meindl recommends ordering 1/2 size smaller than the brannock measurement. Which I did and it was a perfect fit! So far have proven to handle the abuse I've torchered them with and feet have not gotten wet. Gonna love them on my upcoming rutting mule deer hunt.
Next is my Argali Absaroka 4p teepee. Rain, snow, and wind. Hands down best tent I've owned. A shout out to Argali CS. I called and talked to a sweetheart of a lady because as I mentioned I was caught in a blizzard with super high winds. Everything held up but in the process, the tent pole took some punishment and in the end one of the height adjustment holes mushroomed a bit. I had a new pole in less than a week and the original is still usable. Glad I wasn't dealing with another company that has slipped in CS.
Oh and my Polaris Sportsman 570 atv survived a 30 mph rollover with only minor damage and fired right up after getting it upright. What a great machine. Although my shoulder is still feeling the effects. I'm just thankful to God I wasn't instantly killed.
I know there are a few hunts to go out there so feel free to chime in after your hunts.
How bout the rest of you?
