Ohio, today on a log next to a river. We do have river otters. About the size of a silver dollar or slightly bigger

Looks like a fisher

We have fishers but they are RARE. I need to set a camera.

That would also be ironic, yesterday I read that fishers are being documented in Ohio for the first time in 200 years - and near me. Today I go for a hike on my land and see that track......

I just looked up fisher tracks and it does look like them. Especially the pattern. I live in Cuyahoga County where they were just confirmed for the first time in 200 years.

If you have some red meat your willing to sacrifice put that out in front of the camera too. Fisher love something stinky, so taint it for a few days first.

I’m no expert by any means, but did catch a video recently talking about porcupines being controlled in Pennsylvania with the reintroduction of Fishers the past two years. Out of curiosity I googled if fishers are also being reintroduced into Ohio and it said no, but they are trickling out of Pennsylvania and will repopulate Ohio that way.
