What to do in Eugene, Oregon?

My brother in law is running at the NCAA track meet up there this week. We fly out in the morning to watch the finals and kick around for a couple days. I’ve never been to Oregon so if anyone has any suggestions I’m all ears.

Only an hour from the coast, 20 minutes from the Bow Rack.

There is also a large community college there with a Duck for a mascot.

But seriously, the McKenzie River is worth a visit and if you can swing Crater Lake, you won’t regret it.

Second this. There is a Cabela’s there if you’re into it.

Otherwise it’s pretty much San Francisco without the ocean or MLB team.

Trout fish the McKenzie with a guide. Beautiful river.
Or drive 50 miles west, turn right on Hwy 101 and within 20 minutes you’ll see one of the prettiest stretches of coastline in the US

Lol never thought I’d see my hometown be the subject of a RS thread. I’d imagine your time will be relatively busy just getting to and from Hayward. If you are into mtn biking, lots of good shops and rentals, can ride the McKenzie River Trail if hiking or fishing wasn’t already on the list

Flyfish the McKenzie River from a drift boat. Bike or hike the McKenzie river trail. Drive up and look at the McKenzie. Did I mention the McKenzie? I guide it, pm me if you want info. Have fun! Beautiful time of year.

Do some research on the exact hike and make sure you don’t need a permit.

A lot of the trails are over ran and they started limiting access.
