I've decided I hate mine, this one:

It's like flappy and gets tangled up and I'm always having to pull it around to adjust it under my pack and bino harness. I feel like I'd almost prefer an orange jacket, or even just throwing an oversized orange t-shirt over whatever else I'm wearing.

My next one will be one of the fleece vests in blaze. I don't rifle hunt much so I haven't needed one in a long time. They are super cheap as well. Bob Ward's has the ones I'm thinking of.

Plus 1 for orange aglow.

I prefer vests without any insulation

I paid $100 for a Sitka vest and it hardly ever gets used.

I use the mesh, solid orange one from Walmart. I put mine around my pack and also wear an orange hat. The vest on my pack can be seen 360 degrees. I've never understood wearing a vest then covering it up with a pack. Seems pointless to me.

I was thinking about buying one of those orange pack vest style ones. I think alps,ll bean, tenzing Cabela’s all have them but I don’t know if it would really be worth it. The one I have now fits over all my layers and even in warm weather it’s not bad. It only has 1 buckle andthatseems to work good. For the price of a sitka or under armor one my cheap vest has way more features. I do also wrap one around my pack

I read that to be wrapping the pack not wearing the vest. if you wear the vest you are good, even if it is draped over the pack. but you have to it on your person. hey I don't know -just reporting. it is not my area of expertise.

I knew a guy that always took off his vest and wrapped it around his tree blind - he sat in an orange blind. that did not fly. he had to have it on.

I have a orange pocket on the back of my pack for rear guard visibility.

10-4. Yeah, some of the rules seem kind of ticky tack. Lol

Good luck this season.

I've had an orange camo Sports Afield vest that I've been wearing for the past 15 or so years, and I'm pretty sure I bought it at Wal-mart back then. I googled it to see if I could find it and the closest thing I see is the LL Bean one, although it doesnt look like the LL Bean one has outside pockets. Either way, it's pretty good for the price.

The $3 mesh one from a gas station/wal-mart.

Also Harbor freight has these, cheap, along w road crew-style vests.

Before I went to an internal frame pack I used a fanny pack and this vest, unbreakable, cavernous storage:

Now I am back to the plain jane gov't-issued Duxbak (outstanding old-school brand) orange canvas vest I "inherited" from a CDOW relative in the 1980s. It has a brass zipper, one patch pocket and @ least 20 seasons on it. Binoculars tuck nicely into the top of the vest w the zipper down a few inches. They don't make them like this any more, literally.

Under Armour. I've used a Cabelas Guide (Cotton) for the last 7 years but wanted something lighter and synthetic this year. The UA is a bit slimmer so it doesn't interfere with pack or bino harness straps as much.
