What Makes Scopes Reliable?

In reading on here for a while, it is clear that some scopes are more reliable than others. What makes, say NightForce, more reliable as aiming devices than others?

Quality control. Some companies make a superior product to others and their quality control of those products is also superior.

Quality control makes products CONSISTENT. Design, engineering, relevant product testing in a realistic environment, and iterative development before sending a product to production are what allows quality control to provide any value. Consistent manufacturing of a flawed product, or controlling for non-relevant/priority functions or in “cupcake” conditions makes great marketing copy but doesnt add any actual value in use.

Agreed that a flawed design is worthless. My point was quality control on a well designed product so it hold zero and is repeatable is what makes quality control of that product effective
