This is the longbow I have spent more time in the woods than any other. Wilderness Bows, this is the White Buffalo model. Unfortunately they are not made anymore.
When I find a style that I like I use it to judge others.
I have owned, shot, and hunted hard with a number of very good longbows from known bowyers. After many years and a lot of hunting, Cari-bow longbows have become the only ones I've ever truly loved. I own a 2-piece TD Featherhorn model as well as a 3-piece Silver Fox. I mainly wanted the 3-piece for traveling hunts as it packs smaller and I can bring extra limbs. What I didn't expect was how much this bow appeals to me for its shooting qualities. I'm not going to write a bow ad here, nor am I going through a full critique. Abe Penner is quietly crafting some of THE finest bows in North America. The last 2 animals taken with my Silver Fox:
I love my 48@27” 58” Whistler! Just got it a few weeks ago, but it’s been awesome. I will say my draw is only 25.5” (maybe I should have gotten a pika), but it still shoots amazingly. I can switch between my satori and this bow almost seamlessly too.
