Had to rezero after my windage slipped going into the last stage of a local PRS match.

Virgin Starline:

1x fired Starline

Adjusted turrets and sent another 10 with 1x Starline. Elevation seems a bit high as I think I was starting to hold on the hole instead of the dot. The outside shots were the last 4.

I really like those 150 Eldx’ in 7mm08.

I’ve backed them off a bit from where I had them. These are going 2675 from the 1x brass. The virgin is going 2635.

With a little more N550 or a decent amount of Staball 6.5, I can push them north of 2700 but I’m enjoying no bolt lift and no marks on the brass.

I used to shoot the 162 Eld-m a lot but the 150s shoot well and line up almost perfect with quickdrop inside of 600.

This all from a 19” chopped Tikka barrel.

I know exactly what you are referring to with SB6.5. It shot well but was glitchy.

N550 has given me similar speed but it’s seems more consistent.

Good modern barrels don’t need to cool down to shoot well. There’s a long thread about it around here.

I typically switch rifles every ten rounds for the sake of the throat and to let mirage dissipate. My normal range routine is 10 centerfire, 50 rimfire, 10 centerfire, 50 rimfire, etc. On days I have a good reason, I sometimes I will just swap centerfire rifles back and forth.

I think I need a suppressor cover. I can usually only get 3-4 rds down range without seeing impacts start walking from mirage, even on a cool day. 18" .223 with OCL can. Makes it tough to get hard data on a 10rd group.

I might start shooting on a lower magnification too, that could help. I always shoot groups on 9x with the SWFA 3-9.
