What kind of undies are you wearing?

For hunting and spending time in the field commando is the answer for me. No chaffing or any other issues. Lots of people are hesitant because it is different but I recommend everyone tries it.

I gotta keep my boys snug, cozy, and dry! Summer bicycling season is always a struggle for me....

I picked up a pair of ExOfficio sport mesh boxer briefs and had one day in them. Seem nice. Headed out this afternoon for 5 days so will have a more informed opinion after.

The exofficio are nut huggers for me... for every day wear I wear the cheap reebok synthetics with the ventilated pocket for the twig and berries... they reek after one day in the field though. I had a pair of icebreakers that turned into Daisy dukes after one wash...that was unpleasant.

I want to try some of those sitka core...especially if they control the Nad stank as well as everyone says

Commando most of the time. I do have a pair of the red desert and two pairs of the Kuiu peloton neither pair ride up the Kuiu don't seem to breathe as well. I want to try some Ice breaker ones. As I get older I want to prevent excessive sagging of the daddy bag. I'm horseback quite a bit at work and underwear are not your friend in the saddle.

I'm 65 years old and did a decently long life as a firefighter with a lot of gym and stairs time and saddle time thrown in (Now I'm an old guy who still wants to do the shit the young guys do) I've never shy'd away for "the next big thing", was having "lightweight" fiberglass stocks built for "fatbolt" Brownings before most of the guys accepted the lightweight rifle concept and I'm NEVER above trying something new - At this present time only 2 makes of "undies" cradle the old shriveled boys, Champion boxers (that I get cheap at Costco) and Sitka merino boxers - yesterday I posted on another thread but just a minute ago I checked and that's the status - Now, I'm sure there are some of you "Roksliders" who are wrinkling your nose and thinking "who is this old guy who keeps commenting on OUR threads ??" but I thought similar thoughts when I read "what kind of undies are you wearing ?" so TOUCHE'

Thank me later, they have a built in nest for your man bits and double as the most comfortable hot weather shorts you will ever wear. Plus...the hikers give you great looks when you go tromping past with a rifle and booty shorts.

Merino boxers. All day, every day. Switched from First Lite to a mix of Minus 33, Smartwool NTS, and Sitka. The First Lite were kind of fragile and prone to fabric separation in the inner thigh area, and it really sucks to see the boxers you got on sale in the off season for $36 coming apart aye 20ish uses. The other three I've mentored and tried seem much more durable, and just as comfortable.

I have some decent synthetic boxers hanging around, but Taraji wear them, and then not in hot weather - merino performs better, imo

I have a couple pairs of the First Lite red desert boxers and I agree with what some of the others have said. They seem to be coming apart after only a few uses. They are very comfortable though. I also picked up their new 3/4 length in the Aerowool and they are nice but also looks like they are starting to come apart after a few days wearing them. I like the Sitka merino boxers a lot. Much more durable and still comfortable.

I dont recommend icebreaker boxer briefs, after wearing them a little bit the fly would start opening a bit when I took bigger steps, and I kept having to tuck myself back in.
Bought a pair of the first lite Dobson briefs, really like the length cause they actually stay down on my legs, and they are the right combo of snug and loose for me. However, they're pilling pretty bad in the crotch after my short trip in August. Then again, I tend to destroy pants in that area (big thighs, small waist).

I think I've found my perfect combo. Ex Officio 9" boxers, a good wipe down every night with some wet wipes, some fresh balls cream to keep the chaffing at bay for those tough hikes. Also carry a bit of desotin. Spread it on any chaffing and it will be mucho better by the morning. Because many of us know how much it sucks to keep pushing on when your bits are rubbed raw

After reading over and over about exofficio I got 2 pairs for a back packing trip. Had them on for 4 seconds before I went and ordered 4 more pairs. Awesome boxes

I have seen the light, think I,m gonna try the smartwool briefs! Never could stand boxers, so that option is out. More I use wool, the better I like it. After 3 days in August wearing the same wool t-shirt doing a traverse of a few little mountains, kinda surprised to realize I still smelled fan-truckin-tastic!..

Gotta get Darn Tough to start making wool briefs! Just think of the possibilities!!..

Exofficio Boxer Briefs. Ever since they were recommended on here a few years ago, they are all I wear every day. Watch Sierra Trading Post or other places for deals. You can find them for $10-12 a pair. Not the cheapest but worth every penny.
