Not a good photo, but I believe this muzzleloader is from the civil war and has Ohio stamped on the stock. Apparently, the owners initials were S.C.

looks like a after war cut down 1842 Springfield musket smooth bore more than likely there were a few that were rifled the cal. Should be .69 these types of guns were bought back with soldiers and cut down for use around homesteads if you look at the lock plate it will give you the manufacture and there should be a date
