Like the title says--what is the SINGLE most important thing you are going to do in 2025 to enjoy your overall time outside more? Could be anything from trying new things, going new places, staying closer to home or traveling, or could be new gear, or NOT using some gear (phone, etc).

For me It's continuing to dive into things I'm a beginner at, I'm enjoying the steep learning curve.

My initial response was to get into better shape. I know I enjoy my time more when I can move from here to there without wheezing like an old goat. I'm registered for a half-marathon in June so if I give that even half the training I should, I'll be light years ahead of where I was last year.

@Geewhiz 's answer got me thinking I need to prioritize getting to the fishing cabin more. I enjoyed it while I was there last year (save for one horrible trip) but I did not make it the priority I should.

We're expecting #4 in June and my wife doesn't qualify for mat leave this year, so I'm going to take 6-8 weeks off for paternal leave, and spend a bunch of time out gardening, planting fruit trees, setting up our permaculture plot, tending to the livestock, and shooting cans with the older 3. Been hustling too much since we moved out 3 years ago... haven't spent as much time as I should have with them, so I'm looking forward to making the most of it and building our relationships back up again.

Get in a little better shape and win the battle against some health issues, hopefully.
Get out trout fishing a bit more. Something tells me my 16 year old could be a heck of a fly fisher.
you and me both. blown out shoulder, now a little bout with a tumor on my kidney i have to deal with. I need to get healthy. All things that will be better with a few less lbs and some more hiking/fishing/enjoying life.
