Hard to choose just one...but I would probably say quality tried andtested boots. More than one trip ruined by foot pain or blisters, and if I am not comfortable hiking in, I will be less likely to cover the distance needed to harvest a critter once I get where I am going. Doesn't really matter what kind of reviews they got, if the boots don't work for you and your purposes it's hard to cover the country!

Can always cut your shirt...but will eventually run out of material ....however it's a better option than sage or pine needles
