With spring bear opening in a month or so its time to start getting serious with bear bait prep. What is everyone using for baiting this year? Our camp is gonna try a new bait by using oats along with various sweets in one of our barrels. We’re gonna compare it to dog food and a few other options we know to work.

Dog food and Bait Em 907 scents. Tried popcorn. Didn’t work as good until I mixed it with dog food. But dog food bags are just so easy to transport and handle.

I'm going to use trail mix this year along with the normal staples of breads sweets grease molasses, etc. hopefully its a good season.

I'm going to use primarily a trailmix candy mix this year. I was able to get a bunch for the same price per pound as dog food. As always, I will also use a lot of grease.

Something quirky going on. The OP is specifically mentioned in the classifieds in the thread SCAMMERS. Might be trying to establish some fake authenticity. Check it out.

Used French fry grease, when I hunted Ontario the baiter and (yes he was what one would call a master baiter) who we hunted with it was all he used worked just fine, and most restaurants will give it to you for free just to get rid of it
