What size Jebs Choke is everyone using with Apex 12ga 3" 2-1/4oz - #9 Shot. I have the .660 version but curious if anyone is getting better patterns with their .665.IMG_9664.jpeg

First shot was @40 yds and Second shot was @ 25 yds. Both should be a dead bird but I aspire to do better especially with TSS.

Also, when I called Apex they recommended Indian Creek .665 and Jebs .660 but I’d love some real world feedback.

Are you familiar with this Youtube channel? These guys have hundreds of tests on many gun/choke/load combinations. They test a lot of JEBS and Indian Creek chokes. This one is a comparison of the JEBS .665 and the Jebs .660...

Also, it is my understanding that JEBS chokes and Rogue Ammunition are sister companies owned by the same folks...so the Rogue loads are designed to work well with the JEBS chokes.

Thanks @Skydog! This is a fantastic channel thanks for sharing. Although, it leaves me with more questions than answers which are echoed in the comments section of that video. How does a wider choke (.665) have a tighter pattern than the narrower choke (.660)? I’m also curious if Rogue ammo runs hotter than the Apex ammo I’ve got.

That makes sense, I’m probably simplifying things since the Apex ammo has the exact same specs on the box as the Rogue. I’ll have to get the .665 Jebs to see if it does better than the .660 or just switch over to Rogue ammo. TSS is just so darn expensive to be using at the range.

No problem! My understanding is that it is not uncommon for TSS to sometimes prefer a more open choke. The velocity of the Rogue loads should be listed on their website.
