What is brass worth?

Ive never been a brass collector. However in the last year or so I have been picking up the brass from my range as I have been shooting at home more. As much as I am interested in reloading I do not think I am going down that rabbit hole. We have a few gun shows this time if year in my area. I was thinking I might try to get enough money back from my brass to pay my entry fee and gas to the show. What do you sliders think this stuff is worth? All factory ammo once fired brass. Mostly Federal, Nosler, or Hornady. I have separated by cartridge but not manufacture. Some of the Federal is the nickel plated brass.

Unfortunately the common manufacturered brass in those calibers doesn't have much value. If you collect a large quantity of a single manufacturer sometimes you can sell it. If you find a niche caliber you can sell smaller quantities.

Reloading is similar to any high end manufacturing where components make all the difference. Components with tight tolerances with each other make the finished product very repeatable and desirable. Seldom do people leave the more highend brass behind.

Most reloaders are also cheap buggers, so getting us to pay for range brass can be tough unless someone left a pile of alpha, Peterson, or lapua there.

In general, mill spec 5.56 is a pain though some like lc brass.

Norma brass in good, probably 1 of the better range brass finds, id probably scrap the hornady. It works, but it's soft.
