What happened with Victory Xtorsion Arrows?

I'm kind of a seasonal archer and sometimes away for more than just a season. But I'm getting ready for a archery Montana Elk hunt.

I was getting low on my Elk arrows which are Victory XtorsionSS. So I find a great deal on ebay for a dozen plus of 300 spine Extorsions. So I go to buy componets for them and they seem scarce. So I go to Lancaster archery and do a search for Victory Xtorsion and come up zero. I think, no problem I'll just go to the company website. Unfortunately, I no longer see Xtorsion on their list of hunting arrows, nor do I see Xtorsion componets?
I'm an old guy so maybe I am missing something in my searching? I see the RIPSS and VAMP SS but no Xtorsion or Xtorsion SS?
I'm feeling like maybe I bet my money on a looser arrow. Anybody have a clue what happened with the ExtorsionSS or was I Extorted? Maybe that name (Xtorsion) was a sign of things to come?

Victory discontinued XTorsion a year or two ago. I'm guessing there wasn't enough demand for shafts with that high of a gpi. The most similar shaft in their current lineup is the RIP SS...same ID, lower (but still fairly high) gpi.

Component-wise, you should be able to find a RIP half-out that would fit an XTorsion shaft if you wanted to stick with Victory components. Or you could try 5mm/.204" inserts/half-outs from other manufacturers. A hidden insert (HIT) would be my preference.

You are probably right. I have mostly 300 spine. Per the info above the RIP 300's have a narrower OD and the RIP 250 has a larger OD but in measuring the OD of my Xtorsion spines they look to be the same as the 300 spine RIPSS at .272 and I know I could sand off the ends slightly and probably make those work even if slightly larger. Of course Ethics archery sells some hits that will fit but they are weighted which probably isn't a bad thing.

I would bet that a half-out designed for a RIP SS 250 or 300 would work on an XTorsion 300, perhaps with a little sanding required.

A HIT would certainly work; it fits entirely inside the shaft so OD doesn't matter. If you wanted to use an external sleeve/collar along with a HIT, Ethics or Iron Will probably have some that would fit. Easton, Ethics, and Iron Will make HIT's in various materials and weights ranging from 15 gr to 150 gr.

I went to Iron Will and ended up purchasing some Hit inserts and what they call "Impact Collars" for the xtorsions. I also bought a few 125 gn single bevel blades. Watching their video's convinced me.
