Interesting trail cam pic from my property here in south central PA. I have never seen a deer missing an ear!

Possibly coyotes, there’s definitely a pile of them here. Actually the coyote in my profile pic was shot 20yards from this trail camera. We had a 3 legged deer running around 2 years ago. That could have been car accident or bad shot that eventually led to losing that leg. But missing an ear? That’s a new one to me.

Probably blood loss from too many damn ticks, they're bad already this year /sarcasm

There's no telling what happened. Probably coyotes if i had to guess. Super resilient animals!

RMM is right. Ticks can cause severe blood loss, killing tissue on the extremities.

Several years ago in the Sandhills of Nebraska a bunch of deer froze both there ears off from frostbite. I've got old 35mm pictures of a group of does standing by my friends ranch house, all of them earless.

I'm in mule deer country in eastern WA and we had a doe that hung around town with one ear. Now that she died I've joked about wrestling down a yearling to make a replacement.
