What guns to buy before a ban?

What an idiotic reply,

Our Constitution obviously relies on the willingness of its citizens to understand, value, and actively live by the principles—individual liberty, limited government, personal responsibility, and the preservation of natural rights. As I am sure you understand the Framers designed the Constitution as a safeguard against concentrated power, recognizing that freedom survives only when the people remain both engaged and capable of defending it. The Second Amendment, in particular, reflects this philosophy by affirming that the right of the people to keep and bear arms is inseparable from the broader concept of liberty and serves as both a practical means of SELF-DEFENSE and a symbolic reminder that ultimate sovereignty resides with the citizenry, not the state. To neglect these principles is to weaken the very structure that protects democratic self-governance; to uphold them is to preserve the balance of freedom and accountability upon which the Republic was built.

But you do you sweetheart

You missed my point entirely.

You missed my point entirely.
Nope,

I selected just one of several reasons I found your post fundamentally misguided. The “hill to die on” cliche you quoted is another example—and if we are invoking history lessons, the reality of countrymen fighting countrymen is hardly unprecedented; we have endured that chapter before as well. You are correct that no rational citizen would wish to revisit either scenario, but that observation has little relevance to the substance of the present argument. The central point remains unchanged: it is far more difficult for a government to legally confiscate arms already in the hands of law-abiding citizens than it is to prevent those citizens from legally acquiring them. So get em while you can.

That said, Colorado is increasingly subject to a unilateral political movement rooted in expansive government control, one that many view as prioritizing collectivist ideology over individual liberty. Its practical effect has been the steady erosion of personal freedoms, the encroachment upon constitutionally protected rights, and continued efforts to restrict citizens’ ability to exercise their Second Amendment protections, ultimately weakening the balance between government authority and individual sovereignty.

I think the other issue we are seeing is CO is the poster child of how they want to ban hunting and then ban the guns. CO is doing both at the same time. They chip away a little here and there but its coming. Moving isn't a solution, this is coming to every state. CA wrote the book for taking away 2A rites, I thought I could get away from that by moving to CO. I could see the writing on the wall just didn't expect it to happen this fast.

Back to guns, I agree a M1A has always been on my wish list as long as I can remember but that price, ouch lol. Does anyone have any clarification on the barrel bill and which will fall under the law? Also yes I do know this isn't a full ban on semi's but let's be honest they keep pushing us towards a roster and I don't like that.

Reintroduce wolves = less game animals = less hunting = less "need" for guns.

There are a dozen similar approaches of this salami-slicing, very integrated.

Also, we have seen the terrorist attack in Australia, that guy was running a bolt. Different country but same dumb laws being pushed.

If you think this will stop at semi auto's you are wrong. They want them all.

I want to get more involved because it does feel like voting isn't helping including when these laws get introduced and we have no say as voters anyway. None of these laws that were passed were voted on by we the people.

Winning politically is really simple, and overall comes down to one thing: Voter turnout.

In any given election, 40-60% of a party's registered voters don't show up to vote. In primary elections, name-recognition trumps all, because you're fighting for the party's vote. But once you get into the general-election, the campaigns which do best focus on what's called "GOTV" - get out the vote. All that means, is getting your party's existing voters to actually get to the polls on election day. That is, hands-down, the simplest and often cheapest way to win in a general - just getting committed, already registered voters to actually vote. It's also why elections often focus on "hot button" issues - to piss people off enough to vote.

Well, voter turnout and the level of fraud allowed…

I’d like to remind everyone that a candidate that barely campaigned, and when they did it was awful, ‘got’ 81M votes…
