Anyone have any guesses on the bottom two? Never had them scored. The top buck is deceiving. Right front fork away from being a stud.

Top is is a 141” gross 5 1/2 year old buck, bottom buck is a 130s 3 1/2 year old buck. Sometimes us hunters get caught up in the numbers, at the end of the day a mature buck can score 120 to 220. 150 is definitely a good baseline, and usually represents a muley buck well.

Here are the score sheets from the two bucks I posted earlier. Sometimes it helps to look at the numbers to give you a better idea what it takes to make 150. I think most bucks will top out between 150 and 170.

This buck is young, probably 3 1/2 years old. I think if he had 2 or 3 more years he would have been 180 or so.

This buck is mature, probably 5 or 6 years old. He field dressed around 225 lbs. I don't think he would have gotten much bigger.

6FAED5B2-15DA-4A17-853D-4E9B5419D327.jpeg157” gross. 150” mainframe with 7” of cheaters. He’s only 22” wide if you don’t measure the cheater width. 150” seems to get you a narrow buck with good forks, or a wide buck with shallow forks. Of course, there’s a million ways to get to any given score, but I’ve noticed a lot fall into those two types.

I’m relatively new to field judging myself, but he looked really nice on the hoof. I think any buck over 150” is going to look impressive to the majority of hunters.
