What do you think of the Howa rifle?

I have not used it in that caliber but I did make one in 25 CM and it rocks! Think of it as a Weatherby SUB MOA rifle.

I took one of my older actions I got 25 years ago living as a 22-250 ai and put a Bart bbl on it - the action runs nicely, feeds well, and maintains its integrity over the long haul well. Takes some more smithing to get it to near custom tolerances but that is normal.

I'm planning on getting one soon. Recommendations here will determine if I will be getting one or not haha

I've got a 1500 6.5CM and Mini 6 ARC, happy with both. Maybe not as refined as a Tikka but plenty accurate.

I haven’t shot one, but the having a Howa mini in your hands is kind of fun - very compact. I like the 1500 action or the mini - basic, well made. I’m relieved to see it in better stocks - the original was lacking to say the least.

I’ve always been a Howa fan, but never owned one - it’s so much like a Remington it never seemed like a step up (or down), just a different brand. The mini action is somewhat unique in how small it is, so I’d love to get a good deal on a used one.

On this forum and others I’ve always perked up when folks post targets, and some mini’s shoot accurately and some are mediocre. For the price it’s to be expected.

I have a 1500 in .300wm. It's a good hunting rifle. Nothing fancy, but it works. I've killed a few elk with it. It's been reliable.

I have the super lite in .308. It was a little "jumpy" out of the box and got 1.5" groups with the first factory loads I tried. Then I bought a silencer for it and man - it leveled right out. My last group with factory loads was .8" and pleasant to shoot. I love it. It's a 6.5 lb gun with scope and everything except ammo - hard to beat that at it's price point. It's not a fancy gun but it works well.

I have 2 Howa Minis. 1 in 223 and 1 in 6mmARC. The 223 is about 10 years old. It is acceptably accurate. The trigger is meh to me. For the price I don't have any issues getting the barrel hot and using it. It's a fun light rifle that will do it's job on coyotes and gophers. My new mini 6mmARC is a year old and has been to Howa for inspection. Factory ammo is dangerously hot and I've had 1 pierced primer with it. Howa says there's nothing wrong with it so I have to keep the loads pretty mild. It'll shoot about 1.2MOA and will be getting a new trigger spring soon so maybe that'll help. It kills well

There have been issues with trying to cycle Howas fast (see Form's review).

I probably won't get another Howa, knowing that when standard Tikka is on sale or has a Rebate it's only like another 50-100 bucks (even less if you keep track of the deals)
