What did you do in the reloading room today?

Staring at a bin of range pick up 5.56/223. Probably 1500+ cases. Made up my mind that I'm going to make it my project after the holidays to process and load it all for plinking ammo in my AR. Tried a couple loads with 55 gr and 62 gr projectiles and TAC a few months back and they gave acceptable results.

The Hornady 3-1 trimmer will be a huge help. The last batch of 1000+ lake city cases wasn't fun to trim at all.

😂. Glad to hear I’m not the only one. I prop my phone up so I don’t need to hunch down to get an accurate view of my scale.
The phone works too. I started with that.

I remembered that I had an old webcam and hooked it up. So much better IMO compared to the phone. Give it a try. You'll love it.

Took my 300 BLK barrel off my TL3 and installed the 22-250 AI barrel on again. Figured I have another 400 rounds or so before it’s toast, so going to see how it likes the 85.5 Bergers.

After having a 16” barrel on for the last year, this 22” seems crazy long haha.

From my perspective, do you need more bullets to equal the amount of powder that you have there. :) ?

Millwright friend sent me PPU 06 brass fired from his Garand that he built at the CMP in Alabama AMC several year's back. Extractor does leave some burrs but dealing with them.
Annealing and resizing then trimming. All slow cuz no quality set up but that is ok been doing like this for decades. Good winter job.

It's been a busy Christmas morning in the garage. Loaded up 40 rounds of 22cm with 4 different charge weights to test out accuracy. I looked for pressure signs a few days ago and I am pretty sure that the 22cm hides pressure really well. 0 marks on the brass, 2 different powders, both a grain or 2 over book max toward the top of the ladders. Slightly noticed a heavier bolt lift, but it may have been in my head. Velocity is lower than I hoped for, but not by much. Hopeing this barrel speeds up by 50-100 fps after a 100 rds or so.

Then I sized, trimmed and chamferred 75 rds of 6.5 cm. Next I primed 50 rds of Cm brass that was waiting on primers.

This new trimmer thingy from Hornady had me excited to trim today. Lol

Received my Lapua brass (300 WM). Sized, mandrel, primed, reloaded 1.5 grain below prior load max, work up in 0.5 gr increment. Recheck max load. Plan on backing off max load 0.5 gr and put on paper.
