What did you do in the reloading room today?

One load per gun. I would prefer it even more, if that bullet and powder can be used with other guns that I own as well.

Random bullets and powder do kinda add up over time. But I dont experiment with loads much anymore.
The older I get I find this to be true for me as well. I’d rather see less clutter and concentrate my time in less places since I don’t seem to have a whole lot to spare.

I could see a guy wanting to play around a bit, if he enjoyed reloading. Which I do not :ROFLMAO:

Also makes it nice and easy to stock up when things go on sale.

What is everybody's favorite .223 varmint recipe for gas guns? Mine are neglected back in a corner as they've always kinda been more of a SHTF part of my collection. However, based on my own misgivings and thoughts posted here, rather than spending components developing varmint loads in my 25-284 or 7-08, I'm thinking of reinvesting in the black rifles.

Did up some loads for my 6.5CM 20" SA Redline. Lapua brass w/ 210M LRP and H4350 in 0.5gr increments.
Left to right:
- 127gr LRX w/ 42.5-44.0gr H4350 - 0.050" jump
- 129gr ABLR w/ 42.0-44.0gr H4350 - 0.060" jump (2.850" COAL mag limited)
- 142gr ABLR w/ 41.0-43.0gr H4350 - 0.045" jump (2.850" COAL mag limited)
- 120gr Match Burner w/ 43.0gr H4350 in Norma brass (foulers/plinkers)

Mainly just looking for some velocity numbers and seeing if I find pressure somewhere. If there are any promising 2shot groups, I'll focus the next session around that load. First time getting warm in Lapua brass and really testing this rifle, so we will see what happens.

Spent way too much time trying to get 180 hybrids and H1000 to shoot out of a new 7prc.
It just doesn't repeat. Even at 20 off the lands, boattail is way ahead of the junction. Seems odd as it should be a SAAMI chamber.

Gave up and loaded 195's and N570. Pressure at 72gr. Boattail is in same position as my 7STW, just above the neck radius. Will load some around 69 and see if it repeats.

Finally got out to shoot the 6.5 WSM tonight. I had 20 loaded up, and shot 3 (middle), adjusted zero, shot 9 (bottom), adjusted zero, and shot last 8 at the top target. I was shooting prone behind the house and didn't have a rear bag, so for the last 8 I tucked my green shell holder under the stock with my hand. I pulled one shot something awful, but the remaining 7 covered up the 1" dot pretty good. Damn can mirage was awful even in 50 degree weather. One of these days I'll get a cover. Anyway, no MV tonight as I was just shooting for groups, but I'll load up another 20 and report back with MV when I can. To try to keep the barrel cool, I fired 3 shot strings and gave it a few minutes between mags.

This is the 3rd Tikka I've loaded for that has worked out on the first load. Thanks to @Formidilosus for all the tips! The following threads have been invaluable.

- Painless load dev
- Bonding a picatinny rail
- Scope mounting to maintain zero
