What did you do in the reloading room today?

Thank you and I appreciate the feedback. All of the load dev for this rifle has been on hot Iowa summer days with high humidity, so hopefully temp. influence has already showed itself. If its 80+ degrees with 60+% humidity in WY on 11/23, we've got bigger problems! J/K and thanks again.

Temperature aside, you could get water in your chamber and have issues in short order as well. If primers are falling out of pockets on Alpha OCD brass you're pretty dang hot and 0.2 isn't going to move the needle much.

I told myself I wasn't going to test the 300 Bergers. Well I did and I'm happily regretting it 🙃

I loaded 90.5-92 based on ladder results and tested at 300 today. That's a 1 inch aiming dot for reference.

I'll be validating this next week after returning from a family trip to Savanah GA.

Thank you for the feedback, and I'll remember that. The primer I had come loose the other day I'm almost certain was due to a case being misaligned in the shell holder and the primer "crunching" in when I seated it (Redding press "swing arm" priming approach). It looked fine externally, but this is my best guess. If that ever happens again while priming, it will be a no go for that round.

Loaded 40 rounds of .22arc with 88gr eld-m, Lapua once fired brass and CCI 450 primers.

10 are 30.1 grs. N550.
10 are 30.4 grs. N550.

10 are 29.5 grs. LeverEvolution.
10 are 29.8 grs. LeverEvolution.

Used a Lee Six Pack Pro and weighed the charges with an AutoTrikler V4.

Interested to see your numbers just shot a little over 28gr of 550 with 88s yesterday and got good results

Started working up a load with 120 Partitions and RL 23 for my 25-06. This rifle is a laser with 115 Berger’s and 115 Nosler BTs.
This is a new powder and bullet for me and so far the results have been underwhelming. Lower than expected velocities and poor accuracy.

Rifle is a 22" bolt gun. All are from 10 rounds. Groups are at 100 yards. Bullets are about .023" from touching.

30.1 grs. N550 - Avg-2895, ES-32, SD-9.5. 1.265".

30.4 grs. N550 - Avg-231, ES-24, SD-6.7. 1.204".

29.5 grs. Lever - Avg-2883-ES-17, SD-5.5. 1.070".

29.8 Lever - Avg-2925, ES-33, SD-9.9. 1.521".

Next, I'm going to load 20 with 29.5 grs. Lever, 10 will be .020 from touching and 10 will be .017" to see if this rifle/load combo can be improved with an adjustment in seating depth.

Very nice.

I’m shooting an AR with an 18in barrel, so a little slower, but the best speeds I have gotten with the 88 have been using n550 and Superformance. 2700 is the best I can do with that bullet though

Over the weekend I necked down 51 (thanks Starline) pieces of 6.5 Grendel brass to 22 ARC. Some of the necks were a little crooked so I trimmed them all to min spec, chamfered and deburred, then threw them in the tumbler for a quick cleaning to get the lube off. Sitting on the bench ready to be primed and loaded tonight/this weekend with 55gr V-Max bullets to fire form to my chamber.

Sorted some "new" primers. My buddy, who doesn't reload, gave me an old stash his dad had way back when. They were stored well and would probably go "bang". If nothing else, the old packaging is cool.

I wish a brick was still around $8.00, dang.

A few years ago I bought A LOT of once-fired (maybe) .223 Rem R-P (mostly) fully prepped (tumbled, sized, trimmed, c/d) brass from Brassman Brass. Got a good deal.

Really tough to seat the bullet so I measured the inside neck diameter. Good news, very consistent, bad news, 0.215” - 0.216”. That’s tight, even with the boat tail on the 75 ELDM.

Also fixable. So I spent some happy time running the brass over my Lee collet neck sizer before priming. Gets the inside diameter to 0.219” - 0.220”, which enhances accuracy for me. I’ll probably load today.

Drizzly, damp week so I couldn't do my yard clean up so I prepped some 270 win and 308 win cases last night, about 100 total. Today, I prepped and loaded 50 for my 7mm RM. Ramshot Magnum, 150 gr Nosler Etips. I am set for deer season. I need some nice weather to get to the range and dial the 270 winchester in for my daughter. She is at Med school and will only have 1 day to hunt while she is home for Thanksgiving break.

Prepped and primed 100 rounds of 7-08 brass. These will get 46.5 grains of SB 6.5 and 162 ELDX. My daughter will be practicing out to 300 with these for her Nov cow hunt.
