What did you do in the reloading room today?

I think we're going to need some details there, sir. You can't drop a 64 year old ammo post and just walk away! 😂
Guy at work gave me four partial boxes. Don't know if the bullet pic is clear enough.

I remember seeing a few surplus powder kegs as a kid. Seemed 4831 was for everything. There were a few Sierra boat tails as well, that seem to have a sharper angle that new ones.

I wonder when Nosler quit turning the groove into them?

Clear enough for me. Those sure are lathe marks. I love the "4831" on the reloading label, which is almost certainly WWII surplus powder as others mentioned. That stuff was a boon to olde tyme reloaders, as it was quite a bit slower than the new production H4831. I'm sure quite a few rifles saw some damage as a result of using the same powder charge with the new stuff. 💣

IIRC, 58gr with a 150 was Jack O'Connor's favorite load followed by 61 or 62grs with a 130.

Went to the range and shot a ladder today. Changed seating depth in increments of .003” and charge weights in increments of .05 gr.

I tease, just got a kick out of this target at the range the other day. I did however just finish another 500 round batch of 123 eldm for the grendel.

Loaded up 150 more 6 creeds for my PRS gun, then prepped and primmed 150 more pieces of 6 creed brass and 150 pieces of 223. Been shooting a lot lately, so trying to stay ahead of myself.

Took my 223 apart to send the action and bolt off for nitriding. Dug out all the pieces and parts for my heavy Tikka Dasher, donor rifle should be here next week so I have an action to put it back together to sell. Need to thin the herd a bit.

Shot the savage 110E 30.06 today. Playing with lengths & 3.18 opened up but could have been poor shooting but 3.15 works well. This rifle always liked deeper seated bullets.
Play with powder charges now as primers were backing out.
Data I was using must be lite cuz I was near max.
other data goes up to 48.5 & 50.5 instead of 45.9 max with 180’s. I was using 45.5 of W748.
Not using iMR 4350 which is great but faster load.
Trying slow things down for the short range woods shots.
@2500-2600 fps is enough. Soon as primers stop backing out I’ll call it good.
Loaded 3 more at 46.5 then 3 at 47.5 then 3 at 48.5
Worst case scenario I pulled down the hotter loads.
