What did you do in the reloading room today?

How did you fix that? Been kind of having the same trouble with one of my projects
Which part? The collapsed shoulders? Or the messed up trimming?

My process for a perfect neck down is as follows:

One shot lube outside and inside neck

Wilson bushing die with a bushing .010 size step down smaller than original parent case

Wipe down then reapply one shot

21st century neck die with another .010 step down to get rid of the unsized portion of the neck (donut) and in my case set desired neck od.
(This die sizes all the way down to the neck/shoulder junction unlike normal bushing dies )

Wipe down neck area again because of brass shavings

Thoroughly apply graphite inside the neck
And use 21st century expander mandrel 1thou larger than desired neck id/neck tension because of excessive spring back.
(This is where I got collapsed shoulders at first, from not using enough graphite, and trying to go to fast, you can feel when the expander doesn't want to go. Slow and steady is the way.)

Then run it on a Henderson trimmer because most of the cases have stretched from all that brass movement.

Over the past week, I have loaded 7 PRC with 168gr LRx, 6.5 PRC with Sierra TMK, 7 Rem Mag virgin brass with N565 and 175 ELDx, .257 Wby Mag on the table today with virgin Norma brass still deciding if 110 gr or 100 gr bullets... The days are getting longer here in Alaska. The time for shooting starts in Feb. for me.

Tried to regain some of my sanity from holiday overload. Didn’t get there in the few free minutes I had, but at least I got back to work tomorrow.

Prepped about a hundred cases. And loaded up 30 rounds of the best shooting stuff of the day to check ES/SD again and shoot to distance.

This is my second time shooting my reloads (first was two days ago). I can see where people start chasing their tails. I had a 5 round group at 1” last time but with awesome ES and SD.

Today was 10 rounds, a better group, but way worse ES and SD.

What kind of numbers? ES/SD looks worse and worse the bigger samples you shoot, my initial 10 shot on my proof group had an ES of 62 and SD of 24. That 10 shot group went .6", and I never saw anything notable from velocity show up on targets out to 1,000. I honestly quit caring unless it's obnoxious like LRT in 28 Nosler, 128fps ES for 10 shots. Wouldn't trust that lol.

Here’s my data between the two days using a Garmin Xero Chronograph.

Dec 30th
41g of H4350
ES 20.4
SD 7.4
5rd group .6”

41.5g of H4350
ES 16.3
SD 6.6
5rd group 1”

Jan 1st
41g
ES 46.1
SD 15.3
10rd group 1”

41.5g
ES 77
SD 20.3
10rd group .8”

I definitely get the larger group size will make the data increasingly ‘worse’. Just trying to find the right load so I can stop load developing and start cranking out a few hundred of these. To be fair, an inch or less is perfectly fine for me.

Loaded up some cheapo 55 grain FMJ for my weekly 100 round session with my RSS Saturday. Then did some experimenting with 75ELD-M’s and TAC. Being able to shoot off of the back porch a few feet from the press certainly has its benefits.

Yeah none of that data looks too crazy to me, is this on new brass?

Loaded a pressure ladder test for my .35 Remington. Using LeveEvolution powder and the Hornady 200 gr FTX bullet. Trying to mimic the factory Hornady ammo that shoots lights out in my Marlin.
