What did you do at the range today?

Thanks. That makes more sense now.

My 'seated supported' is usually two trek poles plus an arrow shaft, up front, then two rubber-banded arrow shafts in rear. I like the concept of using a pack for a rear rest, but I don't actually get to hunt with a pack that often, certainly not a big backpack of the size that would serve well as a rest, which sort of limits the utility of that particular position for me, at least at the present time.

Of course, I'll freely acknowledge that my arrow shaft rear support has its own weaknesses, too.

The white stencil is 8MOA.

You can see the 2 variations of my position in this thread but here it is again.View attachment 1096217View attachment 1096218

Sorry for being pedantic, but this is the Internet after all… The white stencil is only 8 MOA at 100 yards. Which makes it about 8”. At 800 yards, that 8” target would be a 1 MOA target.

At 500 yards, an “8 MOA target” is about 42” across, not 8”.

I find it a bit simpler to say, “it’s an 8” target.”

And, if I put every round into the 8” target at 400 yards, I could say, “I am shooting 2 MOA groups at 400 yards.”

Oh!

Ok, *NOW* it makes sense. I was wrong. Got it now.
