What did you do at the range today?

Complaining about having to comply with NFA laws? What are you going to do if you get pulled over on the way to the range?

"I'm not driving, officer. I'm merely travelling in my conveyance and have no contract with you."

What did I do at the range today?

I'm still pushing thru the suck on my seated unsupported shooting; a hold over from the Cold Bore Challenge 2026.

Other than a slight elevation change, all this mess below is failure to command the gun and body position.

Getting better...Everything is getting smoother too. I can arrive, build, shoot, pack up in 5 minutes currently.

600 yards, seated supported, one shot per day. 8MOA target.

What grip and stock is that if you don’t mind me asking
Both from Made Rifle. Not really in production now. The owner is in Canada and their whole sytem hates gun companies. He has also had issues getting stuff to the US for a while. We are working on getting his stuff moved but it will be a while.

Thanks for the reply they both just caught my eye and looked slick

Had Monday off as a "floating holiday" for work. Drove two hours north to a DNR run range. $10 for the day. Finally got to shoot past 200 yards for the first time. The long rifle range was split: 200, 250 and 300 yards on one side of the road (used to drive down to set up targets). Then on the other side, steel plates at 300, targets at 400, 500 and 570 yards. Had steel plates at 570.

I was not prepared. Wasn't sure what rounds my rifle was sighted in for and don't own a spotting scope. I could just barely make out some holes at 400. I should've moved over to the 200 to get my zero.

Once somewhat zeroed my ballistic calculator was right on! Happy about that. I shot ok. Couldn't see any holes at 570 but did pepper the crap out of the 8 x 8 steel plate at 570.

Chrono'ed 50 rounds of 6.5 CM using 142 SMK's over 36.3gr of Varget. 2635 fps, SD of 10.6. ES had a few outliers on the high side. Had a few rounds sitting in a hot chamber due to a chatty neighbor.
