What did you do at the range today?

So that was a super blackhawk. Bisley grip frame, trigger, and hammer off midway IIRC. Couple evenings drinking beer and holding a file and it was done. First an probly the only time I have been happy I had stainless as you can carve on it all you want and it still looks the same..

Honestly though. For my needs. That model 69 is my favorite of the two. I really do think the 4" m69 might be the perfect revolver. Its on my list :ROFLMAO:

That's awesome, wasn't aware you could get swapable frames/hammers, etc.

Just saw this Model 69 come up for sale yesterday, I think. Definitely cool guns:

Had the mounting screws shear on my pic rail today and caught an NXS with my face.View attachment 1037208View attachment 1037209
Also found a pretty good group for my daughter's 243.

Yikes! I had that happen once as well. You might want to look into a pic rail with a lug to prevent that from happening (even with larger screws).

Did some load development for my 6mm arc with Varget, lever, some 108 ELDMs, 105 hybrids, alpha brass, and CCI 450s. Loads ranging from 2587 fps through 2815 fps. Found some winners for sure.

Austin, what barrel length on your 6 Arc?

I actually just ordered that area 419 rail last night and the one I had on there already had a lug on it but it sheared off too.

My fast 6mm at 720 with 20 MPH sustained winds and 40-50MPH gusts.. Was across a canyon and either got a funny downdraft or I just suck as usual on the low shot. Small impacts are the RSS at 720 the day before with just a slight breeze.. 12X17 inchish target.

Just got to ~1,000 rounds on my Sauer 100 6.5 Creedmoor -no cleaning at all. Checked my zero then checked the drop at 460 yards. I was having problems with my elevation corrections before this, looks like it was probably a tolerance stack situation. I basically tightened everything up with my zero, the actual range, the velocity, and a different ballistics program.

On Thursday afternoon, I went back to the range with my T1X and my .223 T3. I warmed up really well with the T1X and started off the .223 practice with real enthusiasm. Unfortunately, 25 rounds in I noticed that I had forgotten to zero out my scope after the last 300-yard session. I was so disgusted with myself that I packed up and went home.

Went out to see if I could stretch out a little further at a spot my buddy has a bench with 100-300yd targets. Found a spot to get out to ~600. I guessed at a ~5-10mph wind felt where I was at, from my rear & to the right. Shooting over ~200' deep draw with no veg to gauge in the middle.

Had a first round hit shooting prone on bags at 590 and then the wind turned on a little more. Took me two shots to spot the impact and correct ~0.5mil but I felt pretty good about being able to spot the hit in the scope instead of having to watch the video back like my last range trip.

Similar results at 480 shooting seated with a stump and my backpack. 1 hit in the wind lull. 1 miss when the wind turned back on and then held .2-.3 mil of wind to hit 3 more.

finished off shooting a 10 shot group at 100 just to monitor my zero.

On Thursday, I shot my 6 ARC AR-15 testing out the 87 Vmax with Varget and Lever. 5 round groups and started with Varget. Thought I just suck at shooting or it didn't care for the Varget. First group with Lever showed the rifle clearly prefers that combo.

Came home a loaded up 100 rounds at 31.2 to take to WY for the weekend.

I brought a few rifles down to WY with me, one of which is a new Marlin 1894 357 lever action. I was able to get it pretty well dialed in with a red dot and 158 gr federal factory ammo. 5 shots at 100 yards, not too shabby. I'll probably toss an actual scope on there for some load work up. Once I settle on a load, I'll go back to the red dot.

Forgot to add - spotted this shed antler when leaving our shooting range. I’m not mad about finding it from the truck haha.

I havnt played with ballistic X much. How do you change your distance. I cant seem to change it from 100 yards. I'm sure im doing something wrong. (Android user here)

Been shooting daily still and I’ll take a random array of cartridges depending on the day. 22LR, 223, 6 arc, 6 creed, 6.5 creed, 280 AI, and 300 win mag. I haven’t shot the 280 and 300 a whole lot the past few years but it’s still fun getting them out and shooting the big guns every once in a while.
