I shit steel out to 400yds with my Kimber 308, loaded some 165g partitions. I was getting just a hair over 2700fps, shot a few good groups on paper too before moving to steel.

Sertorius, I notice a lot of your groups have vertical stringing. That is usually caused by shoulder pressure along with thumb pressure on the stock. Try pulling the stock to your shoulder with your fingers only the same each time.

I had an abbreviated day at the range, but a fun one.

I started off shooting a new-to-me Mauser .22-250 that I accidentally bought off GunBroker. I put in what I thought would be a low bid and no one outbid me. It had an old 6-24x scope on it when I got it, but I sold that right away and made a good bit of my money back on it. Then I put on an SWFA 12x I acquired in a trade on Rokslide. She’s got a 24” barrel and weighs 11# in the current configuration. I haven’t measured the twist rate, but my assumption is 1:12.

In the past, I have had respectable results from the Sellier & Bellot 55-grain SP ammunition. It’s also very cheap ($14.22/20). The box velocity is 3478 FPS. I got 3555.8 with a STD Dev of 22.3 (40 rounds total). I recommend this ammo for anyone who doesn’t want to reload their own, but I am confident that I could halve the groups with reloads. Here are a couple of representative groups (corrections made between groups).

PS - I have too many rifles, so this one is going up for sale soon.

After shooting the .22-250, I did some offhand and seated/unsupported rimfire drills. Only 25 of each today, but I was happy with how I shot.

Then I shot a group from my new batch of ADI 69-grain ammo. This batch appears to shoot a bit higher than the first batch, but the groups are still pretty good.

I finished up by shooting a 17/20 Carl Ross drill with the .223. My best score on that drill so far, with plenty of room for improvement since two of the misses were prone.

Took all three kids to the range. .22lr at 150 yards for all of us, then my daughter and I shot the 6.5cm from 180 to 350 from prone and seated behind trek poles.

Well nothing impressive but I wanted to see where my 22-250 was hitting at 20,30, 50 and 60 meters since it’s zeroed at 100.

After loosing a few arrows grouse hunting with my recurve I started thinking about trying head shots with my rifle. Just for a change of pace since I didn’t draw any tags this year.

Checked dope on the howa mini 6mm arc this morning. 621,421, 283 yards. 10/10 in kill zones. Then ran another 50 rounds through the howa mini 223 trainer doing positional shooting from tripod, pack, and prone between 200-500 yards. Have between 6-700 rounds down the tube on the 223 trainer since I got it two months ago and am really enjoying shooting it.
