17 Hornet, 223 and 243. The choice of the firearm and cartridge is entirely dependent on several things. Varmint in question. Distance to said varmint. Wind speed and direction. Desired result when impacting said varmint. By the desired result I mean a DRT, aerial display or desired amount of red mist.

6x45 ( 6mm-223 ) with Sierra 85gr hpbt or 70gr BlitzKing .

Here’s a photo of a loaded 70gr BK and the trusty Rifle about to go out and find some Dogs .

Was running some 64grain tgk bullets this last weekend at 3440fps and they are very explosive. Head shots, neck shots and others were opening up like crazy.

Will be playing with them a bit as well as just ordered some 60 grain tmk's. I really like the 69 tmk so very interested to see how the 60 does.
I’m having same issues out of my 22-250ai with the 64tgk at 3500fps with hides… pretty much hollowing those poor coyotes out. How did you like the 60 tmk?

I use the 60 TMK in my 22 ARC and it is not fur friendly in that gun. It's running 3015 fps in a 16" barrel so still moving pretty good, but it does anchor them though!

Thx.. I was curious what kinda speeds those 22 ARC's got out of 16".

I dont remember now, but I have soo much faith in the 69 tmk that I have a few thousand of them and can depend on them to knock things down with authority and not blow up hides

6.5 PRC w/107 TMK @ 3,200. Needed? No. Just my favorite, near and 3 fields over - DRT. :)

I just found out about that .22 ARC the other day! That cartridge sounds awesome to me! LIke a Modern day 22-250, but that can hold longer sleeker more modern high-bc bullets!

Kinda seems like it might put the nail in the coffin of something like a .243 Win, looking at the specs.
Hrmm... check that.. rescinding this comment about .22 ARC Hornady is messing up BIG TIME and they are going to KILL that cartridge off, quickly, if they don't course-correct.

The tout it is a Modern-Day .22-250 type speeds, that you can fit into an AR15 platform... however, hornady's loading of it in like a 50gr CX bullet was only like 3050fps at the muzzle???

Just kinda really really made me scratch my head there! WHY... would most non-reloading-people elect to buy a .22 ARC if store-bought ammo has same speed, with even less weight, that a regular .223 Rem load, ya know?

If you're gonna tell me ".22-250" speeds, my mind is thinking 3400-3600... then I look at the box and see 3050?? SMDH

Gonna try the Bobcat hunting again this winter
with the RAR 5.56 and some reduced loads (22 Hornet levels).
And the 22WMR on state lands.

22n with factory 55gr chrono’d 3400 out of a 22” barrel for me. I handload 55nbt at 3550. Idk what the rav was for the 22arc.

The Rave is.. it's intended for the AR15 platform, so you can just swap an upper and a magazine and bada-bing you're "off to the races".

Like I'm saying though... reading directly from Hornady, they themselves stated approaching .22-250 velocities.

Then the other day, I'm in an LGS... and since I've been considering getting a second .22 cal centerfire so both my son and I can be out together for yotes, I decided to checkout a box of .22 ARC, from Hornady. Giddy I'm expecting .22-250 velocites... only to see 3050 fps? Wa Waaaa Waaaaa.... :(
