What brand and model of boots have stayed waterproof in wet grass and conditions?

You are correct to mention wearing gaiters as I think many people have moisture come down the pant/sock and blame the boot. Also, I think a lot of people sweat in their boot and don't realize the moisture is from sweat.

I have been happy with my Schnees Beartooths, but I have taken great care of them (conditioning, cleaning, etc). I have had bad experiences with Crispis and water.

I was going to say my Schnee's Beartooth boots have treated me well. I've used them for 4 years over multiple hunts and never had a leaking issue. I did forget gaiters on a trip and my socks wicked moisture into my boot.

I cannot believe how waterproof my lapponia 3 are. I have never one time had wet feet in them. I was literally standing in muddy water yesterday with water up over the laces dealing with flood debris and my socks were still bone dry. Truly impressive

I have no idea what sort of sorcery they used to make this happen with all those silly laces way down towards the toe, but it works really well. I do have to box lace them above my 1st metatarsal to prevent sore spots, but other than that, I am extremely impressed.

Mine finally started to leak a little at the end of last season, but they stayed dry over 2 seasons and a ton of miles, I’ve tried a pile of boots and the lapponia have been a standout

Zamberlan have been good too (aside from the trail lite evo that have leaked fast, got a warranty pair and they also leaked quick so I’m not going to warranty them because I don’t want another pair)

I’m really curious about the salathe trek, because the salathe low tops stayed dry longer than I expected, I knew the neoprene tongue was a weak point, because I’m always walking through blackberry and salmonberry and any synthetic material is going to get pinholes in the goretex… the trek has a leather tongue, which addresses the one weak point… what I like about the salathe is they are the most sure footed boot I’ve worn, and they have a little softer sole for stalking… it’s very hard to not get another pair of lapponia though, so I’ll probably get both this year, but probably will leave one unworn so I can track longevity

There are very few boots that hold up at all on the coast (kinda like raingear) the lapponia 2’s are the clear standout for me so far
