What bottom metal for Tikka T3 chambered in 22-250

I am wanting to replace the plastic trigger guard on my T3 to metal. I'm probably way over thinking this, I was looking on a website and for Tikka being made by Sako, they classified a 22-250 as a medium action. My question is, would I get a short or long action bottom metal for it? Thanks for your help.

Which website are you looking at? It should be the same bottom metal for both. Only difference between the two is where the magazine is “blocked”. Unless maybe you’re looking at an AICS magazine conversion

22-250 is short action, medium bolt face.

All T3 actions are the same (long) length, regardless of chambering. You’ll not find varying length aftermarket bottom metals, only magazines (and those varying in length only internally).

If your going to run factory magazines there is only one size bottom metal.


Only need to consider it if your going with a bottom metal to run aics style mags

I don't remember the website. It showed all of the different brands of bolt action guns and if they are short or long action.

Check out the High Desert bottom metal. Mountain tactical is nice but they sell out quickly
