Curious to hear what some of the under appreciated or lesser known international hunts are, whether it be the destination or the game species itself.

From the North American hunters perspective I’d venture to guess the top 5 international hunting destinations would be:

1. South Africa
2. New Zealand
3. Spain
4. Scotland
5. Australia

What are some of the more hidden-gem type destinations and hunts or the up and coming destinations that the average guy isn’t initially thinking about?

BC spring bear. Not all are created equal but there are some epic hunts in beautiful areas... A lot of the time the logistics there are substantially easier than AK or even some of the western states.

I would say Australia but not for water buffalo. That seems all anybody comes here for.

Concerning lesser known hunts, how about Argentina?
I was debating Argentina vs Australia for #5. Argentina seems like it’s set up like Texas South.

Regarding Australia the Water Buffalo is the first thing that comes to mind, followed by Banteng and Scrub Bull.

What other game are people missing out on?

Sambar, fallow, rusa, red, axis and hog deer. Camels, foxes, pigs, goats, rabbits, dingo.

Admittedly, there isn't many guided options for anything other than buffalo.
If you befriend a local with good access it could be a great hunt.

Hawaii isn’t technically international for an American. But it strikes me as having that flavor. I want to hunt hogs on Kauai.

I’ve read that Romania has some good red deer and alpine game in the Carpathian Mountains. I have no idea what the prices and logistics of a Romanian hunt are.

Romania is a perfect example of a country that until recently, I had know idea was known for its hunting opportunities. Chamois, Red Deer, Fallow, brown bear etc.

Same goes for Croatia.

In Europe I feel like a lot of the eastern destinations get less attentions compared to Spain, Germany, Hungary etc.

What was wrong with any of the half dozen threads you have started about this subject?
