So I normally shoot behind the shoulder.Gorgeous deer and a good shot, too.
I'm curious - the shot seemed a hair far back. Obviously close enough, but do you think you mis-estimated the wind or was that more likely just part of the typical dispersion you'd expect?
What was the wind doing for that shot?
My initial impression was “more wind than I thought I guess”. But there really wasn’t much wind to begin with.
Then when I watched the video closer and saw that he was quartering to a little bit, but his onside leg was way back in his stride when he stopped, and I STILL shot behind the crease.
Just shit happening fast that I didn’t notice in the moment behind the scope.
If I did it again, I’d absolutely shoot him 6” further forward and punch his shoulder. I just hate doing it because it makes a freaking mess of the meat lol.
