WEZ hit rates.

WEZ is new to me. Have any if you actually gone out and shot in said conditions, a large amount of rounds and seen how accurate it is? Maybe I am totally misunderstanding its purpose, but isn't it basically saying the % chance of you hitting within said parameters?
Yes correct. Hitting on the first shot specifically.

I think it’s pretty damn close. Cause I miss the 1000 yard target pretty often on my first wind call lol

It’s a 6 DOF model- given real, correct inputs, it is extremely accurate to field hit rates. And yes, it’s been done. A lot.

Lol, thats where I'm at now. 😆 Basically WEZ says I'm good further than my rifle is.

I am not sure why I waited until tonight to try this out. If nothing else, it will help me actually put correct inputs in based off of my actual shooting. I am guessing 4-5mph is about where I fall on average on low to medium wind. Anything above 15mph, I am sure my number increases over distance.

It’s really cool. I mostly use it just to see where any advantages come from with increasing hit rates. And bullet speed seemed like one of the higher contributing factors to increased hit rates.

Like a less precise 28 Nosler still “out hit” a more precise 7 PRC for example.

Thank you for running these numbers! Any chance you'd be willing to re-run the 6 creed 2850 MV with the 90 degree wind direction to see if they're still 10% apart? I'm guessing that one will take a bigger hit than 1% drop on the 3250 MV simulation.
Here’s the 6 Creed, 109 ELD, 2850 MV, 7.5 twist. 10 mph crosswind with 4 mph certainty

Sorry to look a gift horse in the mouth, but it's surprising that probability went up from 54% with the head on wind. Is rifle precision still set to 0.45 MRAD?
My bad. I had set it to .20 running some other numbers last night. When setting precision to .45 MRAD, it goes back to 54%

I don’t think he had it set at head on originally, just that the base wind was set at 0 MPH. Hence why there was no given wind hold. But as Form said, the WEZ still look a 4MPH uncertainty into account.

Kind of confusing honestly lol

Thank you both for clarifying. Even for my engineering brain, the WEZ seems like a very confusing tool but a fun one to play with!

I had to jump on the Eurooptic 6.5 PRC sale and am looking at a 6 PRC since I already have a die set and pretty close to the 6 UM capabilities without the expensive brass and whidding die set. I think I saw both you and @Schmo active in the 6 PRC thread, so I'll probably be pinging you guys over there for load data once I have the rifle built.

No problem at all, happy to share any info I’ve gained with the cartridge whenever you need it 👍🏻

Yeah man! Hit me up! I’m always happy to talk to a fellow ‘slider and help with anything I can. When I was about to order my barrel, @huntnful helped me know what specs to order. It’s a fun wildcat that’s super simple.

At 500 yards, wind direction is huge on it. I put 4mph and it drops my % from 86 to 66 by simply changing shooting into the wind vs a 90* wind.

If people understood the weight of what you just said here, there'd be a whole lot less 'long range hunting'.

Four hundred yards is still a very long way for the average shooter.

ETA: not saying that to be critical of anyone here. Just saying the group of people shooting 500+ at game ought to be a whole lot smaller than it is. Not -0-, but smaller.
