I just got a Weston Pro 2300 as an open box Amazon Warehouse deal, and am a little disappointed with it's vacuum power. Not sure if it's defective, or if I was just expecting more. It provides about the same if not slightly less vacuum that my cheap Food Saver did before it died. It does give a mean seal though. Can anyone confirm or deny if I should expect more?

I have one and it has more vacuum power than a Foodsaver model I used to own. I wouldn't say its a ton more, but it will crush softer foods. I’ve had the 2300 for about six years and just two weeks ago the vacuuming power went way down. I replaced the seals for the first time ($25 dollars on Amazon) and it is back to normal. I would guess that is your units issue.

Thanks. I’m returning it; having a hard time getting it to reliably work. Something is definitely amiss.
