Anyone ever hunt black bear in Pisgah National Forest?

I do it every year. It’s a good place to find a bear but it’s pretty thick and rough. I hunt with hounds and have fairly good success every year.

I did for 15 years with hounds. I do it now with a bow lol. Better be ready for some rough terrain. We have allot of bears.

Probably be doing more of a spot and stalk - I don’t have hounds, which would be nice. I’m definitely planning on going next season with the expectation of not killing one lol.

I’ve been trying spot and stalk and stand hunting them for 4 years. My buddy got one that way this year. It’s very tough. I have not connected in my time trying. I know allot about bears. Spent 15 years chasing them. Killed several to hounds. I can find them but danged if I can kill one this way. I won’t stop til I do. Good luck
