Braggin Board for Fishing!

Spent 1.5 days fishing near Awendaw a few weeks ago. Boat limit of reds each day, 55 fish day one, 16ish day 2.

Predominantly red fish, a couple black drums and some small sheephead. Really cold the first day

My wife and I just finished an 8-day cruise up the Amazon River during the rainy season. It was not a fishing trip nor were there options for me to do so, but I really learned a lot about that amazing river. I wanted to share one thing I learned about a particular fish with fellow anglers here on the 'slide...

You guys may already know this (I didn't)...the Amazon River is home to the largest freshwater scaled fish on earth...the Arapaima (also known as the Pirarucu). It can reach lengths of 10-feet and weigh up to 400 pounds. Here's a photo I took of a photo at a local shop of a resident person's "bragin board"...

The Amazon is wild. Man, do I miss it. I spent 2 weeks on a hunt for giant piraiba on the Essequibo in Guyana. Camping on beaches with caiman.

^^^ Well done, sir! ^^^

How was the cruise? Sounds interesting.
Our week on the Amazon was one segment of a larger cruise. It was just right for us and a great introduction to the river. I don't want to side-track this thread, so I'll stop here...but I gotta say, it was really hot and humid for us two Alaskans :ROFLMAO:.

Amen brother. Had 2 Mohs surgeries in the last 7 months. A lot of time on the flats with just a ball cap.
Yup, I have two scheduled for this summer, one in June and the second in Aug. Fortunately they're both just basal cells, but I did have a squamous on the side of my forehead a few years back. It seems like every time I go to see the dermatologist, I end up getting a little bit more removed. It absolutely sucks!
