Anyone here from west va, Kentucky or tenn
If so how do you enjoy the state? Not super trying to get into politics, but as I watch my state and realize some life changes are coming it may be an option in the near future to move and west va, Kentucky and tenn are my radar, but close to va boarde

I like KY - the outdoor opportunities are pretty amazing, lots of public land, and cost of living isn't crazy. There are also probably a bunch of downsides depending specifics of where you might want to live and do for work.

TN is full LOL..... Tn has grown a LOT over the last 5 yrs as a result housing prices have skyrocketed as have land prices.Tn is pretty diverse geographicly and weather wise too.Something for all.The Nashville,Chattanooga ,Knoxville areas have grown a good bit with all the problems that entails.we are still trying to give Memphis to Arkansas but they won't take it.

Taxes are low but increaseing, my property taxes have doubled in 3 yrs,My house and 2 acres has quadrupled in value in 15yrs The rural areas are still OK but even they are feeling the crunch of increased prices, appartment building ,taxes etc.

Lots of areas for recreation take your pick of hiking ,hunting, fishing of all kinds, small mountain brooks to large lakes.

The mountains are full of deer and turkey with a fair amount of public land but that is getting more crowded too.getting on a lease is the best way.

I live in KY but also really like TN and WV. I have been to all 50 states and enjoyed each of them but KY is home and I’m always glad to get back here.

Not tooo worried about public land, id like to buy at least 150 acres. Looking to stay near va boarder as the family farm is right at 2000 plus acres. I def don’t wanna be in a metropolitan backyard but I’m not trying to live 3 hours from civilization. Airport is a must

Unless you are a pilot with your own plane you're looking at Tricities,Knoxville area for commercial traffic, land is quite pricey in those areas, but can be found .I have a friend affiliated with Small Town Reality, they specialize in locating land like you're looking for.

Look at Grenville, TN area with those requirements. I live in the center of SWVA and love where I live and won’t be leaving, but the politics being rammed down our throats rally suck.

Yea, if I move from the coast and stay in va it would be central, that’s where the farm is. But if I’m gonna move move, it’s gonna be bc of the way they treat law enforcement and criminals and then soon legal citizens to follow

Greeneville / Kingsport Tn might work for ya as it is close to Tri Cities airport,Charlotte Airport is 120miles away but much larger.Good luck with your search.

Yes it's a shame what's going on in VA,I'll stop at that.

I grew up in West Virginia, would move back in a heartbeat, maybe not necessarily to mcdowell county, but close to where i live now, maybe Pocahontas/Pendleton counties etc. Virginia sure is sucking politically anymore.

You in VA?

I have a few friends there (or that moved away in the last few years). It's a shame what has happened there.

I grew up in west TN, lived in east TN for a few years, and have been in middle TN since 2017 now. We aren't perfect. Our state might not have an income tax but our state government has all the flaws you'd find in any other state; they are obsessed with revenue and both sides of the aisle do the stupid and evil things you'd expect from them or their respective parties. It's a great place to live, or was, until the rest of the world decided to move here. It really is crowded and really has changed in the last few years. The wife and I work in different aspects of the real estate world and the difference between now and 5-10-15 years ago, is absolutely wild, and scary.

VA.. haha.. Don't come here. i'm getting ready to get out and my wife keeps pushing for TN.. Not interested in TN. I'd choose KY
