Well??? What do all the old guys have planned??

I just got back home from being gone 22 days. First I went to Alabama and killed a buck and a doe. Then on to Ohio where I killed a buck and a doe. Heading back to Alabama for five days Dec26 - 31st. Then again to Alabama from Jan 20th - Feb 4th. Rut in AL is late Jan- early Feb in my area.
This year we stayed up in NW ohio and hunted out of shooting houses on farms instead of going down to
southern ohio and hiking into Wayne National Forest. The Wayne hunt is getting too much for us as we get older. And hunting is improving in NW Ohio on private. Attached are my bucks from Alabama and Ohio. While not the adventure of hunting wilderness areas it was a very enjoyable time. Dont give it up as you age. Modify your hunts to you and your hunting buddies capabilities.

Just spoke to the rancher we hunt on in Wyoming all set to go for Antelope and Mule deer first week of 2023 season (if we draw tags) ways off but time to start getting the plan together, waiting on a break in the weather then range time and a lot of it.

Just settling down to do winter maintenance. Might get to do one more goose hunt if it warms up enough. Otherwise I plan to mine some gold, cut trails, get my wood in, cut hay and do what consulting comes my way - within reason.

Snow goose hunt this coming Thursday, rabbit hunt here before too long, went last week and put a few in the pot, quail hunt middle of February, then start work on the range for upcoming October Antelope and mule deer hunt, O forgot might get in a bit of trout fishing.

I just got back from my last trip to Alabama this year . Shot this buck and had a great time with all the other hunters up there. He isn't a wall hanger and missing a few points on one side but he was a pretty big deer. Came in behind me and surprised both of us. I thought he was a different buck I had been seeing. First time I had seen this deer. 4710FBBB-64A4-4FF4-ABB0-59D5BF92CF8D.jpeg

Was bison hunting 2 week ends ago. Close but couldn't seal the deal. Oh well. Spring bear (black and griz) opens April 15.

At my age just happy to go outside behind my shop ad shoot whenever I want to. I can shoot to 1000 yd's and have a beer with the youngsters , and tell stories about the past .I'm blessed to live on a large ranch that has ample game to hunt all year long . My grand kids are the six'th generation and I want to pass it on to them and teach them just how lucky we all are. I tell them how lucky there they are.

Just got back from an aoudad hunt. Brown bear in early June and need to get my N.M. application sent in!

Flyout caribou hunt in Alaska in late August of 23, and a brown bear hunt in Sept of 24. Trying to add to my current stock of quality ammo for 338 WinMag.

Just got back from a cruise along Antarctica and the Patagonia region of South America. Ireland/Scotland/Wales are booked in June. Hopefully doing a Caribou float in the Brooks with my daughter, son in law, and grandson in August. Already booked for a fly-in moose hunt with son in September.

I've always worked hard and played hard in life...never just lived for tomorrow! I'm sure you guys are like-minded.

The best to all of you in your planned adventures (a body in motion stays in motion)!

Going on a family trip to Alaska in June. Pumped about seeing the Last Frontier and catching some salmon. May try my hand at CO OTC elk if I can find the time in September, and planning an OTC hunt in AZ for Mule deer in January. Always chasing whitetails from September to January over here in the Southeast so I’m wanting to branch out a bit and go on some adventures.
