Well I got a call from Big Jim yesterday..!!

Should have my custom made Thunder Child here by the end of May. Very excited, going with Dark Cocobolo veneers and a layered cocobolo/B&W Ebony riser. Beaver tail grip and sheep horn on the tips and back. 54" 65#.. Can't get here soon enough!

Yeah, This will be my first season using the longbow only.. I still have my Carbon element, but I think the Trad bug has bit me and I probably will never go back.

aggieland, good luck with the new bow! I too felt at one time like you do about seriously not going back to a compound, after 4 years of trad I switched back for a different challenge once again, sometimes a guy has to mix it up a bit! (grin) Keep your options opened my friend! (grin) I still shoot the longbow but my desires for its purpose have changed! Have fun!

I talked to Jim today and since he has so many shows coming up it will be at least 2 more weeks before the bow is finished.. I told him just take his time, so maybe in a few weeks I will have some nice pictures to show you guys!

While I understand you thoughts, to miss a promise time by a month is not very good. Especially when getting close to hunting season IMO.

The wait time was quoted to be 10 months but Big Jim helped me out and bumped up the time frame. So even if I do not get the bow when he had hoped he is still getting it to me way ahead of the typical 10 month wait. And he did tell me ahead of time that when the traveling season comes up for him it could possibly push delivery back a little while. I was ok with that.

Ok Fellas, Big Jim called today and informed me the bow is being shipped. He had a couple of weeks on the road going to trad shows and then a black bear hunt in Canada. So that set him back a little but anyway just wanted to let you know I plan to post up some bow porn soon.. ha ha have a good week!
