Welding blanket for tent stove?

Does anyone use a welding blanket under their wall tent wood stove?

We use a large titanium stove in a floorless tipi without ground protection. If you have a floor in your tent, you may want to try something. In the past, I've placed an inch of gravel in the bottom of the stove and that usually helps.

Not necessary.

I have used a welding blanket from harbor freight on the ground with good luck. Open ground - not needed, but it will help protect the floor if you have one.

Maybe...I've never burned my stove without it.

I could see an expensive Davis floor getting melted if you got er roaring. Maybe not.

The $20 for a cheap welding blanket from HF is mostly piece of mind.
